Calumet City, IL : 1 killed in Bishop Ford crash on the inbound Bishop Ford near Sibley Boulevard on Monday, 20th May 2019

One person was killed in an early morning crash on the inbound Bishop Ford Expressway in Calumet City, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

About 4 a.m., state police responded to the crash on the inbound Bishop Ford near Sibley Boulevard. To investigate the fatal accident, troopers have called on accident reconstructionists and closed all lanes between 159th Street and Sibley Boulevard beginning about 4:30 a.m., according to IDOT and published reports.

Traffic was being diverted onto 159th, WGN-Ch. 9 reported.

State police have released few details on the crash, which involved a car and a semitractor-trailer.

Motorists are warned to expect significant delays and avoid the area when possible by seeking alternate routes.
