Platea, PA : 70-year-old woman killed in northwestern Pennsylvania crash on Sunday, September 7, 2014
State police say a 70-year-old woman has been killed in a rollover crash in northwestern Pennsylvania, but police don't know if she or another woman hurt in the crash was driving.
Police have yet to release the names of either woman, both of whom were ejected when the vehicle rolled over several times about 7:45 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Route 18 and Interstate 90 in Girard Township. That's about 10 miles southwest of Erie, near the tiny borough of Platea (plah-TAY'-ah).
An Erie County deputy coroner pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The other woman was taken to UPMC Hamot hospital, where her condition wasn't immediately available Monday.
Police were hoping to interview the hospitalized woman to determine how the crash occurred.
