WAUSEON, OH : A Fulton County woman was killed in a crash on Wednesday, June 14, 2017

A Fulton County woman was killed in a crash near here on Wednesday morning.

According to the Toledo post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:29 a.m. in York Township, a van driven by Jamie Cook, 31, Bloomdale, was eastbound on County Road D and failed to yield the right of way at Ohio 109. Her vehicle struck a northbound car driven by Carol Barringer, 57, of Delta.

Both vehicles went off the northeast side of the road, while Barringer's vehicle rolled over and struck a fire hydrant before coming to rest on its side.

The report indicated that both drivers were transported by EMS to Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon, where Barringer died. Cook was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Safety belts were in use at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. No charges have been filed and the crash remains under investigation.

The patrol was assisted on scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Delta Police Department, Delta Fire Department and Wauseon Fire Department.
