CROMWELL, CT : A child died after being pulled from the Connecticut River following a crash on Route 9 on Monday, 11th September 2023

A child died after being pulled from the Connecticut River following a crash on Route 9 south in Cromwell Monday evening, according to authorities.

State police responded to the area of exit 25 at 5:20 p.m. for a report of a crash.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash was unoccupied when troopers arrived, according to police.

State police learned that after the crash, the driver, who was an adult female, and a young child, got out of the vehicle and walked down an embankment near Route 9 north.
