Palmdale, CA : 41-year-old motorist killed in 2-car collision in the Leona Valley area Friday, May 20, 2016
A 41-year-old motorist was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the Leona Valley area near Palmdale, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.
The motorist, driving a 2007 Saturn Aura, drifted onto the right shoulder while going southbound on Bouquet Canyon Road south of Elizabeth Lake Road and lost control at 2:30 p.m. Friday, veering toward the southbound lane in a counterclockwise direction, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The car then broadsided a 2009 Ford F-350 pickup truck. The 41-year-old motorist, a resident of Littlerock, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver in the pickup truck, a 64-year-old resident of Santa Clarita, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital.
The name of the motorist will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
