Harrisburg, PA : 91-year-old dead after overnight crash in Lehigh County on Wednesday, January 18th 2017
An 91-year-old woman was pronounced dead after a single-vehicle crash that occurred sometime within a six-hour window early Wednesday in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania State Police at Bethlehem report.
The driver, who was from Slatington, was pronounced dead at 7:32 a.m. at the scene by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Jason Nicholas, police said. Authorities were not immediately releasing her identity, and the cause and manner of her death remained under investigation.
The crash occurred between 1 and 7:15 a.m. on Levans Road in North Whitehall Township, state police Trooper Robert Hooper said.
The woman was driving a white Chevrolet Lumina west when she lost control on a right curve just past Apple Road, left the road and hit a traffic sign then a tree, police said.
