Mason County, TX :Husband killed, wife in critical condition after crash on Sunday, July 5th 2015

A Ludington man is dead and his wife critically injured after their motorcycle collided with a car in Mason County.The accident happened Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Scottville and Hawley roads, southeast of Ludington.The Mason County Sheriff's Department says Cassidy Kozminki, 19, of Houston, Texas was driving a Ford Fusion when she pulled out in front of the northbound Harley. Both riders were thrown from the bike.The motorcycle driver, Scott Butler, 53, died at the scene. His wife Melanie, also 53, was flown by Aero Med to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids. She is listed in critical condition. Mr. and Mrs. Butler were not wearing helmets.No one in the Fusion was hurt."His motorcycle was his pride and joy, it was one of the few hobbies he had because of his bad back," Cheyenne Butler, Scott's daughter, told our partner, the Mason County Press.According to MCP, Scott was a bartender at the Custer VFW Gold Bar Post and he also worked in the flooring installation business."I just want everyone to know my dad was a great guy and he died doing something he loved so much," Cheyenne said. "He always said live to ride, ride to live."Assisting on scene were Mason County Sheriff's Office, Riverton Fire Department, Life EMS ambulance, Michigan State Police and Pere Marquette Fire Department.The crash remains under investigatio
