Tuscaloosa County, AL : 35 year-old man was dead in a hit-and-run crash along Interstate 59 on early Thursday morning October 2nd 2014

Authorities in west Alabama are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a Northport man. Alabama State Troopers say the crash happened just before 4:00 a.m., Thursday morning. Kenneth Dewayne Blanchard, 35, was killed as he was walking along I-59 southbound between mile markers 62 and 63 to receive assistance with a flat tire. Troopers believe the vehicle that hit him is a 1991 to 2002 model Freightliner Classic that is dark brown in color. There is significant damage on the vehicle's driver's side section.
