Pine City, MN : One person killed in a car accident on wet Highway 23 in Pine County on Sunday

Authorities say one person was killed in a one-vehicle crash in Pine County.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident took place about 11:30 a.m. Sunday while conditions were wet on Highway 23. Troopers say the driver was killed after his or her truck went off the road at a high rate of speed and struck a tree.

The driver's identity is expected to be released Monday.
