COLUMBIA, SC : Crimestoppers tip leads to arrest in deadly hit-and-run on Monday, March 6th 2017

A 19-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run collision that killed a pedestrian over the weekend. Alex Graves was arrested and charged with hit and run involving death, failure to render aid, no driver's license, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police said Graves struck and killed 67-year-old Alicesene Dear Gilmore, of Hopkins, as she walked to a nearby store with two relatives on Broad River Road. Graves was identified as a suspect following a Crimestoppers tip that accused her of hitting Gilmore with a white 2000 Ford Crown Victoria.

Officers and investigators with the Traffic Safety Unit found Graves in a home on Sweet Thorne Circle in Irmo on Monday and asked her to be interviewed.

She has been booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
