Derry, PA : Blairsville man killed in motorcycle crash in Westmoreland County on Sunday afternoon, April 24, 2016

An Indiana County man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding Sunday afternoon hit another vehicle head-on.

Chad M. Gates, 29, of Blairsville was traveling on a 2012 Harley-Davidson south on state route 982 at 2:05 p.m. when he struck a 2001 Jeep Cherokee traveling north.

Mr. Gates, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene in Derry, Westmoreland County.

An autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

The crash is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.
