Houston County, AL : Florida woman dies in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 231, outside of Dothan on Tuesday, May 10, 2016
A Florida woman has died following a single-vehicle crash that happened Tuesday outside of Dothan, according to officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Trooper Kevin Cook says Ray Catherine Pinkney, 65 of Tallahassee, Fla., was killed when the 2000 Ford Explorer she was a passenger in left the roadway and overturned. Pinkney, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to a local hospital. She was pronounced dead at 8 p.m.
The driver of the explorer Lucretia Westfield, 47 of Troy, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.
The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. on U.S. 231, just seven miles south of Dothan.
