Ukiah,CA : Bicyclist injured in collision with vehicle in Ukiah on September, Monday 11th 2017

A bicyclist was injured Monday after colliding with a vehicle at the corner of Low Gap Road and Brush Street, the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority reported.

According to the UFA, firefighters responded to the Quest Mart convenience store at 915 N. State Street around 11:15 a.m. Sept. 11 when it was reported that a collision occurred between a bicyclist and a vehicle.

The woman suffered what was described as “minor to moderate injuries” and was transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley by a VeriHealth ambulance.

Ukiah Police Department officers also responded to the scene. According to the UPD, the vehicle involved was a delivery truck driven by a 23-year-old man who was heading westbound on Brush Street and stopped at a red light.

When the intersection was clear, the driver said he turned right to head north on North State Street, then encountered the bicyclist, who was reportedly heading southbound in the northbound traffic lane, near the curb edge. The bicycle struck the vehicle and the woman riding it received a laceration to her left leg.
