Charlotte , NC : 26-year-old Mackenzie Martin was Killed in accident Martin reportedly tried to overcorrect his vehicle and then hit a tree on Sunday Morning , January 25th 2015

One person is dead after an accident early Sunday morning in South Charlotte.

Police say around 1:30 a.m. 26-year-old Mackenzie Martin was driving down Park Road near Cambridge Road when he lost control of his car. Martin reportedly tried to overcorrect his vehicle and then hit a tree.

Martin was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m. Sunday.

Police say speed was a factor in this crash, but at this time it is unknown if alcohol contributed to the crash.
