Yuma, AZ : Three people injured after a crash on Monday, June 20, 2016

Three people were taken to the hospital Monday after an accident at the intersection of Avenue A and 22nd Street.

According to the Yuma Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. when a 1998 Ford Windstar van making a left-hand turn southbound onto Avenue A from 22nd Street collided with a 2003 Hyundai Accent that was traveling northbound on Avenue A.

The 72-year-old driver of the Hyundai was transported initially to Yuma Regional Medical Center before being flown to a Phoenix hospital in serious condition.

The driver and passenger of the Ford were taken to YRMC with non-life-threatening injuries.
