A 78-year-old Naples man died in a four-vehicle crash in Golden Gate Estates on Wednesday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol early Thursday identified the man as Lee Curtis Meyer, who was a passenger in a 2016 Kia Soul, one of four cars involved in the wreck.

The Kia and three other cars were traveling west in the right lane of Golden Gate Boulevard at 21st Street Southwest about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday when Christian Flores, 17, the driver of one of the vehicles, tried to pass a slower-moving car in the left lane at a high rate of speed, state troopers reported.
