Memphis, MO : LaPlata teen injured in crash east of Memphis early Sunday morning, July 10, 2016

A LaPlata teen was injured in an early Sunday morning crash east of Memphis.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 1998 Plymouth Neon driven by Emily R. Hilpert, 16, was eastbound on Route AA, two miles east of Memphis at 12:45 a.m. when it served to miss an animal in the roadway. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck an embankment, the patrol said.

Hilpert, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private auto to Scotland County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
