RAVENNA, OH : Man crashes motorcycle in Ravenna on Thursday, August 31, 2017

A man who crashed his motorcycle Thursday on S.R. 59 in Ravenna near the former Portage Tire and Auto, is said to be OK, according to emergency personnel at the scene.

Ravenna Township Fire Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Portage County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene after the man was reported to have been “doing wheelies” and lost control of the motorcycle. He was traveling east at the time and no other vehicles were involved.

A highway patrol officer said the man would be charged with reckless driving. While officials at the scene said they believe the man is “OK,” the Ravenna Township Fire Department transported him to University Hospital.
