GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC : 2 people seriously injured in Greenville County crash on Tuesday, 1st January 2019

One person was seriously injured in a crash following a police chase, and a man is still on the run in Greenville County, according to officials.

Greenville County Coroner Kent Dill said the crash happened about 1 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Columbia Road and Highway 25.The Highway Patrol said troopers tried to pull the car over in Laurens County, but the driver would not stop. Troopers said the pursuit of the car was called off a short time later.

Laurens County deputies then saw the car, attempted to stop it and began to pursue it. The car crossed into Greenville County, where it crashed.

Lt. Jimmy Bolt, with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, said one person was trapped in the wreck and was severely injured.

He said a man, who was wearing a red shirt, ran from the wreck.
