A Philadelphia woman who caused a fatal car crash that killed two people on the Atlantic City Expressway has been sentenced to eight years in prison.Roselyn Kornegay was sentenced by Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury Friday after pleading guilty in September for the June 2014 incident.
Authorities said the 47-year-old Kornegay was driving a pickup truck while intoxicated on the expressway in Hamilton Township when she lost control and it overturned.
Kornegay and two passengers inside the pickup truck and three others riding in the truck bed were ejected. Thirty-five-year-old James Dennis and a 4-year-old boy who were inside the cab were killed, while the three in the truck bed survived.
She must serve at least 85 percent of her sentence before she will be eligible for parole.
