Topeka, KS : Car catches fire after crash near Moundridge on Saturday, December 10th, 2016
Two people were taken to Newton Medical Center for injuries and their car caught fire after a collision Saturday evening on Interstate 135 near Moundridge.
According to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, Sierra Q. Galleher, 23, was driving a passenger car southbound on the interstate about at 5:57 p.m. The car was having mechanical issues, so Galleher was driving about 35 mph when a sport utility vehicle driven by Brooklyn M. Eaves, 21, of Wichita struck it from behind.
Galleher's car came to a stop in the median where it caught fire.
Galleher was taken to Newton Medical Center for injuries, and a passenger, Joe T. Galleher, 24, of Moundridge was taken to the hospital for possible injuries. Three children in the car were uninjured but were taken to the hospital with them.
Kansas Highway Patrol reported Eaves and a child in the SUV were uninjured. Everyone in both vehicles were properly restrained, according to the crash log.
