DIXON, IL : Oregon man killed in crash on Tuesday 23rd October 2018

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle collision on IL.2 at Sink Hollow Road, rural Dixon.

A pickup truck driven by Stephen Vagle (68 years of age from Oregon,) was northbound on IL. 2, when another pickup truck, driven Daniel Blum (60 years of age from Dixon,), was southbound on IL.2, crossed the center line and hit the Vagle vehicle head on.

Stephen Vagle was transported to and pronounced deceased at KSB Hospital. Vagle’s passenger, Pamela Wright (49 years of age from Oregon), was transported to KSB Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Daniel Blum was flown from the scene to OSF Saint Anthony in Rockford with serious injuries.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Dixon Rural Fire Department, Dixon City Police, Advance Ambulance, Illinois State Police, Dixon City Fire Department and LifeFlight.
