Clearwater, FL : Clearwater motorcyclist remains in critical condition after morning crash on Sunday, 12th August 2018

A motorcyclist is in critical condition following a crash Sunday morning on the Clearwater Memorial Causeway, police reported.

Mahmoud Sousi, 29, of Clearwater, was riding a 2011 Suzuki westbound on the road near Island Way about 8:50 a.m., according to the Clearwater Police Department.

At the same time, Stanley Frederico of Clearwater was driving a 2012 Lexus sport utility vehicle. Frederico, 85, attempted to make a left turn, and the two collided. Sousi suffered serious injuries.

Responders took the motorcyclist to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment. He remained in critical condition late Sunday afternoon. Police were still investigating what caused the crash.
