Caruthersville, MO : Man killed after rear-ending SUV on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County on Wednesday night, July 13, 2016
A Missouri man died in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night.
In a crash report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers state Tavarous T. Lockett, 19, of Steele, MO was heading south on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County around 11:30 p.m.
Lockett’s 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo reportedly rear-ended a 1992 Chevrolet Tahoe causing it to run off the road and into a cable barrier.
Meanwhile, Lockett's car overturned and he was thrown from the vehicle. The crash report states Lockett did not have a seat belt on.
Pemiscot County Coroner Jim Brimhall pronounced him dead at the scene early Thursday morning.
Ralph Z. Rochelle, 70, of Osceola, AR was driving the SUV and sustained minor injuries.
An ambulance took him to a hospital in Hayti, MO.
Five cable barrier poles and a mile marker sign was also damaged in the crash.
