Jacksonville, PA : Bicyclist critically injured in traffic crash in Jacksonville's Arlington area on Tuesday, 21st August 2018

An 11-year-old boy is dead after he was hit Wednesday afternoon while crossing University Boulevard North at Michigan Avenue, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The boy, identified as Terry Bryant, had just been dropped off by a school bus with a group of students when the accident occurred, Sgt. N. Mana said. The bus moved on as the group of children walked north about a block, then Bryant tried to cross at Windemere Drive. There was no crosswalk there.

“At some point the juvenile was trying to cross University Boulevard,” Mana said. “He did not make it all the way. He was struck by a vehicle.”

Transported to a hospital, the child was pronounced dead, Mana said.
