A pedestrian was struck and killed by an Upstate driver on SC 253 in Greenville County Saturday night, troopers report.
The driver was traveling North on SC 253 near SC 183 when a pedestrian who was standing in the median reportedly ran out in front of the vehicle and was struck, according to the report.
The pedestrian was then transported by EMS to Greenville Memorial Hospital where the pedestrian succumbed to his or her injuries. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
At this time we do not have an identity for the deceased.
The incident occurred at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, one mile north of Greenville.
