Mormon missionary dies from Idaho crash injuries in Blackfoot .
A Mormon missionary was taken off life support and declared dead Friday at a southeastern Idaho hospital after he was critically injured in a car crash.Ruth Todd, a spokeswoman for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, confirmed on Friday afternoon that Taylor Ward, 19, of Vacaville, Calif., had died.Ward had been on life support at Pocatello’s Portneuf Medical Center, where doctors determined there was no sign of brain activity, Todd said.The Idaho State Patrol said the accident occurred about 6 p.m. Tuesday on State Highway 39 near Rockford, when a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze driven by fellow missionary John Floyd allegedly failed to yield at a stop sign.The Cruze was struck on the passenger side by a 2010 Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a 23-year-old Blackfoot driver who was not seriously injured.Floyd, 20, of Deep Run, N.C., was discharged Wednesday at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho. He is recovering from numerous scrapes and bruises.Ten LDS missionaries have died this year, church officials say.
