The N.C. Highway Patrol has charged a man with misdemeanor death by vehicle following a four-car accident in which a woman in an SUV was killed as she waited at a stoplight.

The Fayetteville Observer reports 26-year-old Sean Geoffrey Hill of Fayetteville was charged in connection with the wreck which occurred Sunday on U.S. 401 about a mile from the Cumberland County line.

According to the patrol, Hill's car ran into the back of an SUV being driven by 62-year-old Jessica Lynne Pearson, who died at the scene.

The initial crash started a chain-reaction collision in which two other cars were hit.

Hill suffered a broken arm and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. No other injuries were reported.
