Isle of Wight, VA : 86-year-old woman killed in Chain-reaction crash in Wight County on Thursday, May 19, 2016

An 86-year-old woman was killed Thursday when a tractor-trailer crushed the backseat of a car in which she was a passenger in Isle of Wight County, according to state police reports.

Annie Mae Eley, of the 1000 block of Centerbrooke Lane in Suffolk, suffered major injuries and was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center where she later died, police said in a news release.

Four other people were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered a threat to their lives.

The four-vehicle wreck occurred at 8 a.m. on northbound Route 32 or Carrollton Boulevard and at the intersection of Route 17, Brewers Neck Boulevard.
