Burke County, NC : 16-year-old dead in a hit-and-run crash on George Hildebrand School Road on Sunday morning, Sep 20, 2015

The driver in a hit-and-run that left a 16-year-old dead Sunday morning, turned himself in that afternoon, according to Highway Patrol.
The incident happened around 5 a.m. on George Hildebrand School Road in Burke County.
According to troopers, the driver was traveling toward NC Highway 18 in a silver Infiniti when he hit the teen, who they believe was walking in the middle of the road.
Family identified the teen as Justin Laws. He was pronounced dead when authorities arrived.
Laws is from Burke County and lived with his grandmother, officials say.
Troopers have not released the name of the driver but say charges are pending. They are planning to go to the District Attorney's office Monday.
The driver turned himself around 4 p.m. after talking with family, troopers say.
