An 18-year-old Falmouth woman was seriously injured after crashing into a telephone pole Monday morning, according to Falmouth fire Capt. Chad Absten.
The woman was driving a small sedan near 63 Central Avenue when she crashed into the pole at about 10:55 a.m., he said.
When firefighters arrived they found the woman, who was the only person in the car, unconscious and not wearing a seatbelt, he said. Firefighters called MedFlight and brought her to the Falmouth Airpark, he said.
She was in and out of consciousness during the ordeal with potentially life-threatening injuries, he said.
The woman was taken by MedFlight to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with a serious head injury, he said.
Eversource was called to the scene to repair the pole, he said.
