Northampton County, PA : Wilson Borough man killed in a crash on Route 33 in Bethlehem Township on Thursday, November 17, 2016

A Wilson Borough man killed in a crash along Route 33 died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's office.

Patrick Flanagan, 28, of the 2000 block of Butler Street in Wilson, about 11:20 a.m. Thursday was driving an Eagle Talon from Route 22 west to Route 33 north when state police said he lost control of the car.

At a curve on the on-ramp to Route 33, Flanagan's car slid sideways across a grassy area and onto Route 33. The front of a rig, a 2007 International operated by Linda M. Lamgeth, 56, of Wrightstown, hit the back of Flanagan's car in the left lane, state police said.

Lamgeth was headed north on Route 33 at the time of impact. Lamgeth was not hurt.

The cause of death of Flanagan was deemed due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. The cause was ruled accidental, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

The Lehigh County Coroner's Office and Pennsylvania State Police in Belfast continue to investigate.

Flanagan, the youngest of three brothers, was a 2006 graduate of Wilson Area High School who also attended the Career Institute of Technology vo-tech school, said his father Dudd Flanagan. He also was a Boy Scout who enjoyed hunting, camping and the outdoors.

Family members described him as someone who would "give you the shirt off his back if he could" and passionate about cars.
