Three people were sent to area hospitals after a crash Thursday afternoon on Insterstate 80/94 in Hammond.

At approximately 4 p.m., a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 32-year-old woman from Riverdale, Ill., was westbound on Interstate 80/94, a half-mile mile east of Calumet Avenue in the right lane when she lost control for unknown reasons, according to a report filed by Indiana State Trooper Alissa Partyka. The Cruze spun across westbound lanes and struck a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by a 38-year-old woman from Geneva, Ill., that was in the left lane, the report said.
