Brockton,MA : Brockton man, 25, dead after morning car crash in Brockton on February, Sunday 11th 2018

A 25-year-old Brockton man is dead after a car crash on East Ashland Street early Sunday morning, police said.

Brockton police and fire responded to the one-car accident at 3:53 a.m. and found a Nissan Maxima on its side after it struck several trees near East Ashland and Bennett streets.

The victim was Magno Cardoso, of Brockton, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office. He was the only occupant in the vehicle. CPR was performed at the scene, and he was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage to its front end and roof, and rescue crews used the Jaws of Life hydraulic extrication tool to free the victim.
