Fort Myers, FL : Pedestrian killed in Bokeelia crash on Stringfellow Road early Friday, July 15, 2016

A vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian on Stringfellow Road in Bokeelia early Friday.

Diane Frazee Luther, a 62-year-old from Bokeelia, was walking east on the sidewalk just north of Marina Road when 57-year-old Brenda Lynn Green ran her 2013 Kia Rio off the roadway.

Green struck a culvert and went airborne, traveling over Marina Road and striking Luther.

The collision happened on Stringfellow Road at Alcorn Street about 7 a.m., said Lt. Greg Bueno, spokesman with the Florida Highway patrol.

The crash remains under investigation. All charges are pending the outcome of the investigation, FHP said.
