Aiken, SC : An Aiken man is dead after an accident on Sunday, August 13, 2017

An Aiken man is dead after an accident involving a dirt bike near his home on Missy Lane in Aiken on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Jaquan S. Adams of Aiken, according to a news release from Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton.

The incident occurred at 3:40 p.m., while Adams was showing his dirt bike to a potential buyer in a wooded area near his home, according to the release.

While demonstrating how to operate the dirt bike, Adams lost control of the vehicle and struck several trees, Carlton said in the release.

Adams died from multiple body trauma, and a toxicology report is pending, Carlton said.
