INDIANAPOLIS, IN : Car crashes into building at 16th and Delaware Street on Thursday, November 17th 2016

The Indianapolis Metro Police Department and the Indianapolis Fire Department are on scene of a crash involving a car into a building at 16th and Delaware Streets.

Delaware Street is closed, as well as westbound 16th Street. Eastbound 16th Street remains open.

IFD says that a woman driving the car was seriously injured.

They believe she was northbound on Delaware when she failed to negotiate a slight jog in the road, hitting the building on the northwest corner of the intersection head-on.

IFD says that this building is frequently hit by cars that miss the turn at the intersection.

There were no other injuries and no structural damage to the building.
