A 28-year-old man died in a solo car crash on the 134 Freeway near the 5 Freeway in the Glendale area early Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was identified Sunday as Telemak Torosyan of Glendale, according to Lt. Larry Dietz of the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
The motorist was driving a white Land Rover that was traveling westbound on the 134 Freeway approaching the 5 Freeway overcrossing when for unknown reasons, the driver lost control and collided with a guardrail, the CHP said in a statement.
The driver was ejected from the Land Rover and landed on the transition road from the eastbound 134 Freeway to the southbound 5 Freeway. The collision took place at about 12:55 a.m. Saturday.
The man was not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP. It was not known whether alcohol or dugs may have been a factor in the collision.
A Sig-Alert was issued for all lanes of the eastbound 134 Freeway west of the 5 Freeway overcrossing to allow CalTrans to repair the damaged guardrail.
