Our original report continues below.Marshall Police tell Newschannel 3 the man is an employee at the Love's Truck Stop off of I-94. The 31-year-old man was headed home for his break around 2:30 Wednesday morning when a pick-up truck hit him and took off. "We have no idea at this point in time who the driver may be. We called every body shop pretty much in Calhoun County that would answer the phone for assistance," said Sgt. Robert Ritsema, Marshall Police Department. "It's probably the first accident that I've seen, or heard about right out here," said Robert Rodgers, Love's General Manager.Rodgers got the call shortly after it happened. "He's a great guy, so it was just devastating," Rodgers said.
Police are searching for a 2010 or newer Dodge Ram pick-up truck. It appears the truck is dark in color. Police say it will have significant front-end damage on the driver's side."We have the tire front light assembly on the driver's side. We have the driver's side door mirror along with some other pieces that indicate dark-colored paint," Sgt. Ritsema said. Police are turning to the public for help. "2:30 in the morning probably wasn't a lot of traffic out. So, I'm hoping maybe somebody remembers seeing that vehicle coming to or going from the area or leaving a restaurant, bar or something of that nature," Sgt. Ritsema said.Rodgers says the employee has two young boys. He's hoping someone with information will come forward.
