Cottage Grove, WI : Two people injured after a single car crash in Dane County on Sunday morning, March 13, 2016

Two people were transported to the hospital with injuries after a single car crash Sunday morning in Cottage Grove.

Dane County Sheriff’s Office deputies said the crash happened at the intersection of Baxter Road and Wind Chime Way.

According to the investigation, the driver of the 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse left a residence on Baxter Road and was traveling southbound on Baxter Road approaching Wind Chime Way. The vehicle was being operated at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, struck numerous mailboxes and caused damage to several yards before coming to rest.

Deputies said 20-year-old Spenser Reine, of Marshall, and Resdual Brown, age 19 of Stoughton, were transported to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Brown was transported by Med Flight and Reine was conveyed by ambulance.

This crash remains under investigation.
