Jacksonville, FL : Three people injured after motorcycle crash at the intersection of W. Beaver St. and Acorn St. on Friday night, Oct 23, 2015

Police are investigating a crash that sent 3 people to the hospital late Friday night.

Officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say a car and a motorcycle crashed at the intersection of W. Beaver St. and Acorn St. around 10:49 p.m. Friday.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. There were 3 people in the car. Paramedics took 2 passengers to the hospital. The driver stayed on scene, and is cooperating with police.

Officers say the injuries of the 2 passengers are minor.

Lanes of W. Beaver St. between Tyler St .and Acorn St. were closed because of the investigation. Those lanes have since reopened.

No word on what caused the crash. JSO says their traffic homicide unit is investigating the case.
