Jonesboro, AR : Boy injured after school bus crash on E. Johnson Ave. and Fisher St. on Monday morning, April 11, 2016
A student on a Jonesboro school bus was sent to the hospital after a crash Monday morning.
The crash involving the bus and a car happened on E. Johnson Ave. and Fisher St. just after 7:30 a.m.
A 12-year-old boy was taken to a Jonesboro hospital with injuries that were not life threatening, according to Jonesboro Police Department Public Information Specialist Paul Holmes.
No other injuries were reported.
Eight other children on the bus at the time of the crash were taken to school on another school bus.
The bus is with Jonesboro Public Schools and the bus number is 888.
The school bus was heading south on Johnson Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Fisher Street when it struck a gray Nissan car heading north, Holmes said.
The car was totaled in the crash.
Holmes states Joe Burnett, 81, was driving the bus and Dylan Hyde, 18, was driving the car. Both are Jonesboro residents.
Jonesboro police are investigating the crash.
