Hudson, FL : Pedestrian struck and killed crossing Little Road in Hudson on Saturday evening, March 14, 2015

A pedestrian was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a car on Little Road, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The pedestrian, who was identified as a 44-year-old Hudson man, was attempting to cross Little Road at Denton Avenue around 9:38 p.m., authorities said. Salvatore Desiderio, 70, was driving north on Little Road in the outside lane and had the green light when he entered the intersection and struck the pedestrian, the FHP said.

The pedestrian died at the scene of the crash. Desiderio and his passenger Salvatore Desiderio Jr., 47, were not injured, according to the FHP.
