Dover, DE : Bicyclist died when hit by an SUV on Hazletville Road on Monday, Oct 12, 2015

Dover Police say a bicyclist was killed when he was hit by an SUV on Hazletville Road.

It happened about 6 p.m. Monday. Officers say 63-year-old Bernard Etapale of Dover was traveling west in the bike lane.

Authorities say Etapale left the bike lane to move into the travel lane and went into the path of an SUV. Police say the SUV hit the bike, causing Etapale to strike the windshield.

Officers say Etapale was flown to Chrisitana Hospital, where he died.
