A 17-year-old Readington Township teen was ticketed for careless driving after turning into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer on Sept. 26, police said.
The accident was reported at 3:14 p.m. Police said the girl, from the Whitehouse Station section of Readington, had stopped the 2004 Nissan Xterra she was driving at a stop sign at the intersection of Minneakoning and River roads.
A second vehicle, a 2008 Honda CRV driven by a 65-year-old township woman, was stopped in traffic on River Road waiting to turn left onto Minneakoning Road, police said.
The Xterra turned left onto River Road into the path of an oncoming 2003 Volvo tractor-trailer driven by a 53-year-old man from Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. The tractor-trailer struck the Xterra, pushing it into the CRV, police said.
