Spencer, IA : 3 transported to hospital following accident on Thursday, November, 2nd 2017
Three people were transported with possible minor injuries, following a two-car accident at the intersection of 13th Street Southwest and U.S. Highway 71 shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday.
A 1998 Buick LeSabre, dri-ven by Lucy Trierweiler, 73, of Ruthven, was westbound on 13th Street Southwest and had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 71. She began to proceed into the intersection and collided with a northbound 2015 Kia Forte LX, causing disabling damage to both vehicles.
Julia Graeber, 51, of Scha-ller, driver of the Forte, was taken to Spencer Hospital by Spencer Hospital Ambulance with possible injuries. Her passenger, Larry Nicolls, 61, of Schaller, was also transported by ambulance to the hospital with minor injuries.
Trierweiler, who was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way, was also taken to Spencer Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Damage to the LeSabre was estimated at $4,000, and the Forte sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.
