Cameron County, TX : Mercelino Gutierrez, 67, killed and two people injured in car crash on South Padre Island Hwy in Brownsville on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016

Brownsville police are investigating a two-vehicle car accident that may have caused the death of one man Tuesday morning.
Authorities said the crash happened at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 6000 block of South Padre Island Hwy.
Three people, including 67-year-old Mercelino Gutierrez, were transported to a nearby hospital. Gutierrez later died at the hospital, authorities said.
It is unclear at this time whether Gutierrez died from injuries resulting from the accident or other causes. However, his family has declined to have an autopsy performed, authorities said.
