Stratford, OK : 2 killed after vehicle collides head-on with garbage truck in Garvin County on Tuesday morning, August 5, 2014

Authorities say two people were killed when a vehicle collided head-on with a garbage truck in Garvin County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the wreck happened Tuesday morning on Oklahoma Highway 19 near Stratford. According to a preliminary report, a vehicle carrying 18-year-old Joshua Clark of Shawnee and 24-year-old Chase Marical of Tecumseh crossed the center line and struck an oncoming garbage truck. Authorities say both vehicles caught fire, and Clark and Marical were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the garbage truck was injured and taken to a hospital in Pauls Valley, where he has been treated and released. Authorities are still working to determine whether Clark or Marical was driving at the time of the wreck.
