Oklahoma city , OK : 79 - years old was hit by police officer car and killed at Northwest 150th Street on Friday afternoon , December 12th 2014

An Oklahoma City police officer was involved in a wreck Friday afternoon at about 1:30.

Marinan Reese, 79, was in the car hit by the officer and died.

The accident occurred on Northwest 150th Street. Authorities said the officer was traveling westbound on Northwest 150th Street and hit a car turning northbound east of May Avenue.

The officer was listed as stable but suffered a head injury, police said. He was identified as Bryant Hollaway. He has been placed on medical leave. The patrol car is heavily damaged.

"We are saddened to report that Ms. Reese passed away late last night. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family," police said in a statement Saturday morning.

Northwest 150th Street was shut down until 3 p.m.
