Rawlins ,WY :Two people killed after their vehicles collided head-on on U.S. Highway 287 Sunday night ,August 30th 2015

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says two men died after their vehicles collided head-on on U.S. Highway 287 about 24 miles north of Rawlins.

The Rawlins Daily Times reports Wednesday (http://bit.ly/1L6zhGi ) authorities are investigating the possibility that alcohol, drugs, and speed may have contributed to the crash Sunday night.

Killed in the accident were 44-year-old James Smith of Casper and 58-year-old Albert Faiella of Douglas. The Highway Patrol says the accident happened when Smith's truck crossed the center line of the road onto opposing traffic and struck Faiella's vehicle. Authorities say Faiella tried to avoid the crash
